making scents

Hannah Follis, age 24 is a research and development chemist at a candle manufacture located in Bloomington, Minnesota called Illume. How Hannah got a job at the candle factory is well chemistry. She has always love candles, fragrances and perfume. Hannah was a biology and chemistry fanatic and kept the love of science all the way through college where she brought in her horizon.

After completing college she wanted to gain experience so she found so she found a job on careerbuilder.com that she thought it would be worth her while which was the research chemist position at Illume. I know your probably wondering when I’ll get to the candle making part so here it goes. The marketing and sale teams’ research also find out what type of candle is on demand.

The research and development department make the candle idea come true. Expert “perfumers” gather oils from fruits and all the good smelling items to mix it all together to get a particular fragrance. It takes an expert chemist to know what mixes and what doesn’t. After the testing and everything is done they are ready to be presented to the retailers, if they have any problems with it. The product goes back to the drawing board and the process has to be started over.

everywhere a sign

If you feel that you could contribute to the world being a better place for all to live then a job as an
ASL(american sign language) is something to consider, with 28 million americans deaf or have trouble
hearing there is a need for peopke to translate in businesses and basicly all over. The ups about the
jobs are knowing that you are helping another person who is not as fortunate as we are to be able to hear,
and meeting different people, and of course knowing that you have a job that you love that is always in demand.
well with every job trait there comes the training some high schools offer ASL classes but if your school don't
have an ASL vlass then you could try at your local community callegeor there is a web site you could visit it's
"www.rid.org" to get certified could take up to two years but you knowthat being able to help people is worth the work.

This article is basically about this guy named Doug Cheney who made a film at the age of 8 and how to get a film started by using the internet. His first internet show was ‘Sam has 7 friends’ each show was 90 sec, long and featured a different person with 80 episodes. When they were in the process of making episode 10 they were “contacted by talent agencies looking for content creators”. After that they started another film the same length and same amount of episodes called “Prom Queen”. So now they got all these short films out and they are now giving tips on how to get your own short internet film started 1. “Tell a story and make it snappy”. 2. “Set a course” the internet is still new and you never know where it might lead you. There might be someone important watching your show and the possibility of you getting noticed is out there. Good luck

Risky business

I read this article on the dangers of having certain summer jobs number one on the list was working at a restaurant, well besides all the obvious dangers of the kitchen there is also the ‘slip and fall’ possibility .in my opinion if you have common sense you won’t have any problems with your job in a restaurant. The second one on the list was ‘retail jobs’ which is working at a store that sells clothes .the dangers about working there are pretty big such as getting robbed, or a customer that needs anger management. The article gave some tips on ‘how to protect your self’ 1. NEVER WORK ALONE
2. Lift with your legs not your back, 3. Know how to keep your cool!!!
Number three on the list outdoor jobs. When working remember that sunblock is your friend and water is what you need (all the time so you don’t get dehydrated). Also when ever you feel that you are sweating too much or not enough take a break on sit in the shade because it may be something serious such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion. The forth and last on the list was job that have to do with working heavy equipment. 1. Don’t try to show off and do something you know you have no idea how to do it. 2.wear the personal protective equipment(ppe) ,get lots of sleep but not on the job.

proceed with caution

When you are getting ready for collage and/or a job there are many things that can get in your way including you!! I read this article on the most common mistakes people make when making their career plan.
The number one mistake is saying ‘I can’t’ just because you haven’t taken any classes that deal with what you’re interested in doesn’t mean that you will never have a chance. That‘s what high school and collage are for to help you get the education you need so you can get that dream job you want. All you got to do is set your mind to it and not give up no matter what life brings you. The second mistake is to have nothing but money on your mind yeah that’s important but it shouldn’t be the only reason that you want the job. You should want to go to work, look forward to it. The third mistake is doing what your parents want you to do. If you and your parents have a disagreement on what your plans are talk with them let hem know how you feel. Research the jobs that you like and are interested in and share the knowledge with them.
The forth mistake people make is thinking that little jobs won’t help you in the long run. Every little thing can help you gain experience and you never know you might find a new interest that will rock your world.
The fifth mistake is doing it all by your self. No matter what your doing in life you’ll always need support because when times get hard and you feel like giving up at least you know that there are people that love you and they still want you to become the best you can be.

teachers and guns?????

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns in school? Would that prevent school shootings? I say no because what if the gun is taken or is misplaced? It could easily be used against you .Yeah they had training but some one always knows more .what if a fight breaks out among the students and a gun is taken from one of the teachers and a kid gets killed . Whose fault would that be? That is my reasons for saying no.

wall street blues

Well the article I read on what’s going on with Wall Street said that basically people are borrowing money that they know they can’t ‘make well on’. The banks are closing, stocks are falling. All these happenings are bad for the economy so the United States government made a 200 billion dollar bail out for the federal national mortgage Association and the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation. After the government cleaned up that mess, the companies that they fixed lent AIG (American International Group) 85 billion dollars to help them back on they’re feet.
Still all the money that the government shelled out wasn’t enough to get things back on track so the chairman of the United States’ central bank, Ben Bernanke , told congress to fix this and fix it fast or else it would get harder every one to get loans.
Now the U.S. treasury Secretary Paulson asked the government of 700 billion dollars so he could buy all the bad loans and work with the people that borrowed the money so they’ll get they’re money back. As of right now the National debt is pass 10 trillion dollars and the citizens (tax payers) will pay for it.
